Ann and I shared a room my whole life until she headed off to college. She was there for every event of my life long after we shared that room. Our room was bright pink with a multi-color shag carpet. Ann was always on the phone- even then. She had so many friends and was so involved with their lives. She cared so deeply for so many people, and so many people cared so deeply for her. She is so smart, so brave, so funny and so full of life. Ann and I also slept together at bedsides as Mom and Dad went through their end of life journeys. I often slept with Ann in Panama to help her through the night. Even when she was in pain and suffering, she would make me laugh and she would wonder at the mysteries and beauty of the world. So much of who I am and how I think is rooted in hearing Ann's voice my entire life. I know, without a doubt, I am still sleeping with Ann. She is close and interacting with me in ways I don't even know. I love Ann so completely. She is at my very core and always will be.
